bobble Filtered Bottle PACKAGE 050BOBGR Good Concept, lousy product

bobble Filtered Water Bottle Green PACKAGE 050BOBGR Good Concept lousy product I bought this product at the airport thinking that the concept was a good one. I could go through security with an empty bottle fill it up at a water fountain afterward and have clean pure water on the plane. The first time I did this the bottle leaked extensively all through my luggage. I thought maybe the pressure on the plane was too much for it so I tried again when I reached the ground.
Smart Choice for college students This product has been a very smart choice for me. I just bought it on July 17 2010 from the Container Store. It was 9.99 and 10.81 after tax. The best things about this bottle water tastes clean no plastic taste made in USA squeezable clear so you can see how much water you have left I don't have to buy anymore bottled water filter can be used for 2 months or 40 gallons. It is cute shape and style and the blue is a nice color.
Very good product This water bottle is great! It's such a good feeling to know that I'm drinking filtered water out of a bottle that won't go in the trash and move on to a landfill to sit and rot forever. The bottle is somewhat flexible you can squeeze the water out if you need to or if you can't get a good 'suction' out of the nozzle. The filter seems to be holding up very well washing it consists of boiling it in water to clean it. The only reason I didn't give this product a 5star review is because the nozzle plastic has a wierd beachball taste. If they could make it out of some material that doesn't have a plastic taste this would get 5stars for sure.
For the Cautious Water Drinker Pros Its well worth the money it works you can definitely taste the difference and is environmentally friendly. It looks nice and you'll probably get complements saying your water bottle looks awesome. Also the filter has to be changed every 2 months which is very nice and the filter comes in a lot of available colors if you ever get bored of looking at the color you have and it's time to change. It holds a little more than half a liter of water which is good enough for me. It also saves you money if you are a frequent water drinker like me who didn't want to go buy water bottles every week I'm in college and rather skeptical of the college water fountain and sink Cons It makes a weird sound when you drink it because of the filter like when you're chugging on a water bottle and you can hear all the water and plastic inside going crazy. But it's not that bad because it just seems like you're really thirsty. I asked my friends if they heard anything weird whenever i drank from it and they just said isn't that how all of them sound. However definitely don't drink from the bottle in a library or something because everyone will hear the sound stare and it will be distracting them. Another word of caution is to be gentle when cleaning it because the plastic on the bottle scratches easily and if you squeeze it too tight like a normal water bottle than the plastic might deform a little and your bobble might look a little funny.Overall the bobble is a very good product that is great for the money for those who are wary of tap water or don't like the taste of tap water too much.
Great product! I take it everywhere. This is a very great thing to have. I am now saving so much on bottled water. The tap water at my house is so chlorinated that you can not only taste it but smell it when you tilt a glass back to drink. I also fill it up constantly at work. The only 2 reasons that I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish it would come in a larger size for the sake of going to the gym It would be nice if it held at least 1 liter and because the size and shape kind of makes it look like you are holding a baby bottle. Many people have commented about that. However it is still definitely worth it especially if you tend to buy bottled water all the time. This will save you some money and help save the environment.
Great!!!! This is a great bottle for my work environment. They have no purified water so I use the water out of the drinking fountain. The water straight out of the fountain tastes like metal. It is pretty gross. Through the bottle it tastes great.

Gobie Filters : Eco-Friendly & EfficientThe GOBIEH2O carbon filter is a critical element of the bottle's innovative design. Sourced from one of the best filtration development companies in the world and designed with a commitment to conservation and reusability, the GOBIEH2O filter features an ingenious design with a strong scientific pedigree.Carbon is an extremely porous organic material that snares a wide range of harsh chemicals and contaminants. One step past that is activated carbon, which has a positive electrical charge added, therefore making it an even better magnet for chemicals and impurities. Active carbon filters have been shown to be the most effective method for filtering water - so that's what we use.In keeping with GOBIE's commitment to sustainable resources, low-impact manufacturing and providing support for eco-conscious businesses, the GOBIEH2O filters are developed using one of Mother Nature's own natural resources: coconuts! The strong fibers in the coconut shell are heated and infused with pure oxygen to create the carbon granules that will become the filter for your water. The best part of using coconut shell as the filter material is that while millions of coconuts are grown for use in carbon filters, the growing process is great for the environment - the acres upon acres of lush, green trees put back more beneficial elements into the atmosphere than they take away. It's a renewable resource that's good for the world during its entire life cycle! The GOBIEH2O water filter is an impressive workhorse, too. You'll be able to filter 100 gallons of regular tap water - turning it into clean, pure, delicious water - before you need to change your filter. 100 gallons! In bottled water terms, that's 800 plastic water bottles you won't be using once and then throwing away. Go GOBIE - and go green.

Clearbrook 2WF Water Filtration Bottle U wont belive this.

    Water Filtration Bottle
  • Used and tested by International Red Cross, U.S. Olympic Team, U.S. Coast Guard, and California State approved laboratories.
  • Unbreakable, lightweight, 22 oz. (1 liter) bottle fits easily in a bakpack or on your desk.
  • Produces 100 gallons of 750 refills of great tasting, pure drinking water.
  • The "No Leak" top, with collapsible / pop-up straw can easyily be used as a squeeze bottle or used conventionally by drinking through the straw.
  • A water filtration bottle for when your fresh water supply is limited - such as when camping or in an emergency.
  • Water Filtration Bottle The bottles I ordered arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I've used this water bottle before and I like the design of the bottle as well as the taste of the filtered water.
difficult to use We ordered two of these bottles for an upcoming camping trip that was going to require us to filter our drinking water. The bottles turned out to be difficult to use and one didn't work at all. I assumed from the pictures and the popup straw that we'd be able to drink from the bottles. Instead you have to squeeze the bottle from the base to get the water out of the straw and it takes a lot of pressure to get it out.
Works great This product does everything it is suppose to do. I only wish that you weren't required to suck the liquid out through the provided straw. I would prefer that you could just invert the bottle and drink from it that way.
ok but. . . The water tasted great and the product worked well overall but it had a tendency to leak when I squeezed the bottle to drink or while it was resting in my bag. I purchased 2 of these and they both had the same problem. A reasonably good choice for a budget bottle but i wouldn't recommend at all if you're dealing with really contaminated water.
U wont belive this. i have not bought this item however i can write this review. Some thing wrong with this. Only after its logged into ur account that youve bought it should you be allowed to write a review..iv now changed my mind on future items n my cart because any1 can write bout it. Even amazon..
Water filtration bottle Great seller received the product when expected. A little difficult to drink from may take some getting used to.
World's Best Drinking Water Bottle Purchased this because the water at work tastes terrible this thing is amazing at removing the awful taste. I have not had to use it on water of unknown quality. Suck or squeeze to drink bottle can leak if lid isn't on tight or if oring seal is out of place. I wish they sold replacement straws. A++ product.

Klean Kanteen Mouth Insulated BottleB002VIZ6IU Great wide-mouth bottle

Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Insulated Water Bottle with Loop Cap (16-Ounce)
  • Free of bpa, phthalates, lead and other toxins
  • The vacuum between the bottle walls offers superior insulating properties
  • Lightweight and perfectly sized to fit in most cup holders
  • Made with double-walled construction
  • Odor and Flavor Leeching I've purchased the Kanteen from Amazon excited by the notion that I can store hot liquids. I've purchased 3 other Kanteen from Amazon and was very satisfied. The insulated Kanteen has been a disappointment. They have a strong metallic odor and it also leeches metal flavor into my liquids. My coffee tastes pretty bad along with my hot water.Other reviews claim no odor or flavor leeching so i wonder if I just got a bad kanteen. I'm going to place an order for another one and see if it's any better. I'll update the review once I receive the other one. If no improvement I'm going to drop my rating to 1star.
I LOVE KLEAN KANTEEN I had a regular 27oz klean kanteen water bottle and love it so I decided to try this being as it guarantees to keep your liquids either hot or cold for longer and I am a heavy coffee drinker so I gave it a try and bought the 20oz bottle and I love it so much! I purchased it in the summer where its hot and the sun bats down so I filled it up with cold water and carried it with me outside at work and I even left it in the sun for 2 hours or so and the bottle itself was hot but when I took a sip the water was sooooo cold! It was unbelievable! I also used it for coffee and my coffee stayed hot even while being in a cold room with the a/c on blast. I actually burned myself a little because I took a sip after a while thinking the coffee would decrease in temperature but the bottle kept it at the same high temperature that it burned my touge a little because I tried to take a big gulp. Anyways I love this product so much I am considering purchasing the 120z and using it for soups oatmeal etc.
My Favorite Water Bottle This is the best water bottle I have ever used. I left it on my trip to Portland last year and no water bottle I purchased before I could get my Klean Kanteen back was anywhere near the quality of this water bottle. Most water bottles have a taste to them no matter what you are drinking. I am wary of plastic bpa free or not because I am not gentle with my bottles. My last Klean Kanteen had a small dent in the side but this is nothing compared to my other stainless steel water bottles that failed miserably at replacing this lost water bottle. The aluminum has no noticeable taste whatsoever and keeps my cold drinks cold and my hot drinks hot.
Just what I expected I wanted an insulated durable water container that was small enough to fit in the outer pocket on my backpack. This is does the job. I haven't used any other similar bottles so I don't have anything else to compare it to but I love it. My wife now wants one so we'll be ordering another.I got the wide mouth so I could put ice cubes in it to keep my water cold for even longer but unfortunately they don't sell a sport top for the wide mouth bottles. So far this is the only drawback.
Great widemouth bottle This insulated stainless steel water bottle was exactly what I was looking for! As other reviewers I questioned the price but it has been worth it. The wide mouth makes it easy to clean and to load with ice cubes. It keeps cold drinks cold much of the day and warm drinks warm well beyond the length of time that I want to enjoy the drink.
Quality isn't there any more My original kleen kanteen now lost in a forest was great. The seal was perfect and I had no complaints. I have bought two since and they both have the same defect. The rubber gasket becomes dislodged when opening hot liquids presumably what this is made for? and it is very difficult to get it back in. The reason I own two is because one gasket popped out on a hike and I didn't notice. Thanks to poor design a stained backpack was the result. I won't be making the same mistake a fourth time. No more Kleen kanteens for me unless they fix this.
Keeps my coffee hot and delicious I bought this thermos so I could save money on coffee. I noticed how much I spent buying coffee at work and wanted a way to bring coffee with me and keep it fresh and hot. I shopped around and finally picked the 12oz Klean Kanteen thermos. I am very happy with my choice. The Klean Kanteen not only keeps my coffee nice and hot but it never leaks. I throw it in my purse and never have to worry about it damaging my things. It is also good for cold drinks. I have also found it very easy to clean and I find that tastes don't stick to it like I have experienced with other materials.I've had the thermos for six months now and I have no complaints. It does it's job just as good as it did on day one.
Nice water bottle but have had leak problem and can't be used for hot drinks At first I really loved this water bottle and had it in 20 oz and 40 oz. Then it started to leak and had to be kept upright. Even at that it may be the best choice out there as it is insulated has stainless lined lid and no metalic or other tastes. Also as someone noted you drink from a clean surface that has been covered by the lid.I didn't see any warnings not to use this for hot beverages but when I used it for hot chocolate the silicone seal fell out. I am ordering a new lid. I'll try the dring lid this time and hope it doesn't leak. And of course I won't put any more hot beverages in it.
More work than it's worth! I purchased the Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Insulated Water Bottle with Loop Cap so my daughter could take milk and other beverages to school without having a box or pouch to throw away afterward. It looks like a great product but it has caused us nothing but frustration. The rubber gasket inside of the cap gets so slimy and causes the kanteen to leak. I wrote a few months ago and a very nice Klean Kanteen representative promptly sent me a gasket replacement kit. I was hoping this would help but the fact that the gasket has to be removed after every use is so silly. I am not sure why it was made this way. We remove it every time because milk collects up there and creates a slime if not removed and cleaned. The slime and the fact taht it leaks each time my daughter uses it makes me very unhappy with this produc. I love the idea of this kanteen and it is super cool looking I just wish it worked properly.
Klean Kanteen 12oz insulated bottle with loop cap The 12oz looks nice and size is just right doesn't take up too much space in the bag. The loop cap is simple in design and easy to clean unlike those pressbutton caps in some thermos bottles. It does not leak but the problem is that the beverage tends to get on to the threads at the top of the bottle and drips on you when you drink. The first time I used it I had tea over me without knowing it. It may not be a big problem if you're just having water but I use it for tea and I find that I have to wipe the bottle top every time I use it. For that I gave it a 2star. The cap design needs to be review maybe include a rebate or recess on the inside.

Free of bpa, phthalates, lead and other toxins. The vacuum between the bottle walls offers superior insulating properties.Lightweight and perfectly sized to fit in most cup holders.Made with double-walled construction. Features Extra-wide 2.125-inch mouth for easy filling and pouring External, stainless steel threads 100% stainless steel interior Works with standard backcountry water filters Made of 18/8, food-grade stainless steel, no liner needed No BPA, phthalates, lead, or other toxins Rounded corners are easy to clean with no hard angles where dirt, germs or bacteria can stick Reusable and recyclable Easy to hand wash Machine-washable Kleen Kanteen, as an organization, is dedicated to lowering its environmental footprint by making adjustments where necessary throughout its entire production process. Ensuring office paper is 100% post-consumer content, providing hand and dish soaps that are fair trade using Energy Star-certified office equipment -- these are a few of the company's "Earth-in-mind" operations choices. This commitment to sustainability extends to the beginning of the production process, where Klean Kanteen has increased oversight and conducted third-party audits of factories, making sure they're meeting Klean Kanteen's environmental and fair labor standards. The Kleen Kanteen Wide Mouth Insulated water bottle was originally created based on customer feedback, offering a wider opening for easier filling and pouring, as well a universal thread design that works with most backcountry water filters without an adapter. The bottle comes in a variety of color and volume options, and -- like all Kleen Kanteen products -- is made of 18/8, food-grade stainless steel, which is free of BPA and other toxins, and doesn't retain or impart flavors. About Klean Kanteen Long before stainless steel water bottles were in vogue, Kleen Kanteen was working on its first prototype from items bought at a local hardware store in Chico, California. In 2004, the company released its first product, geared toward providing consumers with a lightweight, reusable, durable, BPA-free bottle.

  • The name says it all. I am into camping hiking and travel when I can. I have never got myself into a survival kind of situation and intend to keep it that way. Having this in my backpack is a bit of security that can get me out of trouble. My thoughts before I bought this.I have nearly run out of water hiking. I saw black pools of goo which aren't usually usable but with this I can use those.I like the Philippines but the tap water isn't good. Flooding is a problem from time to time. This would be useful there.I don't like using bottled water. Wasteful use of plastic. Using tap water is better. My thoughts after buying this.I have tested it with river water in Japan. cleanish looking but I think you would usually get sick.No problems.I have used it with the tap water in Manilla Angeles Subic and Cebu. No problem. It is easy to use but a little bit of practice is required so you get your water into a container and not leaking over you.Its great. You can throw it into your back pack and have a bit a piece of mind that you won't go thirsty pretty much anywhere.
Finally got it to pour water! Well I ordered my own Lifesaver bottle from here and after unpacking it and following the directions I could not for the life of me get water to come out. I just thought this might be due to the carbon filter getting worn in or some other crazy thing. As it turns out after I took the hole thing apart the pump stem was not sealing properly into the base. I adjusted the rubber Oring and gave it a good twist and the bottle finally pressurized. If anyone else is having trouble with the water flow or pressure check the seals.Anyways on to the reviewThe bottle was much larger than I expected which makes it a little more difficult to pack into a backpack. Also the bottle itself even though it's made out of pretty heavy duty plastic just seems really fragile. I think it's my worry of a seal busting when pressurizing the bottle. I wish it would have come with a sleeve to go over the bottle making it a little less conspicuous. I would worry about it getting stolen if it's just hanging on the outside of your pack in many poorer countries. On the up side it seems to filter water perfectly. I'll have to come back and follow up when I travel but it's exactly what is advertised.Follow upAfter getting it working one day later the bottle leaks a significant amount out of the bottom. Will be returning the bottle since I can't just have it in my backpack while it's leaky.Follow up #2Decided to get a replacement instead of just returning it. Bad idea. The second one does the exact same thing. When the bottle is pressurized it leaks out of the bottom like crazy. It's pretty much worthless and 'll be returning this one. I definitely would not recommend this bottle until they perhaps come out with another version.
Best Bottle By Far! I've looked into other things like Steripen's and filtering straws but nothing comes close to filtering as good the Lifesaver Bottle.I had a Steripen for a while but even after use the water still looks pretty sketch unless it is from like a river or stream. The taste isn't always great either. The filtering straws I have found are about as effective as a Pur or Brita filter which wouldn't be bad for tap water but for still water you find in the woods or some of the water from places in Central and South America I wouldn't trust it.The Lifesaver bottle though can take even the most questionable looking water and make it taste as good as my Pur filtered Florida tap water back home. You have to make sure you set it up correctly and run 35 full tanks of water through to get the protective coating off the filter when you first get it DON'T DRINK THIS WATER.After you get it all setup you simply fill and pump.I agree with some of the reviews that say the water tastes a little plasticy which it does at first. My friend has had his bottle for about 6 months though and it doesn't have that taste so I would guess that it just wears off over time.Besides even if it tastes a bit plasticy it probably tastes a hell of a lot better than not filtering it at all.
Provided all my water for 2 months in the Bolivian Amazon If you maintain this bottle well study the quirky instruction manual this thing isn't cheap! it will do better than just about any other product on the market. I say that having used many others and having witnessed lots of other products fail in the silty and highly contaminated environment where this one succeeded for meand it has continued to succeed for a long time. I used it for two months in the Bolivian Amazon as well as two of my friendson the same bottle! and it supplied ALL of my water ~2L/day for me and up to 6L/day in total and didn't require more than a couple of rinses of the dirty water portion while in the field. My field work supervisors were shocked that it worked so well as they had long since given up trying to use pumps of any kind in this location due to the clay and silt. Instead they boiled all their water which resulted in justassilty brown and totally flat and when done on a camp fire smoky but potable water. I'll admit to being lax on maintenance the first two months but I've since come to understand the necessity of keeping the orings greased and free of debris and my bottle is working as well as day 1.ProsCan filter just about any water source and maintain performance though the life of the cartridge will lessen.Has a very high flow rate so filling other containers is fast. You can use it to store water as well.Airtight cap means that when it's sealed it's safe from contamination even if it falls into a river or on the ground. One of the lowest prices/L for filtering solutions if you plan to actually use 4000L within the twoyear life of a cartridge.Durable.Dirty water failsafe means it'll cut off flow before you can drink inadequately filtered water.Cons$150Each cartridge is good for two years from when it is first opened.
Good product in theory but will it ever stop leaking Ok bought this as working in remote area of PNG and water quality is an issue. Packaging fine instructions basic but its not rocket science. Its solidly made although a little heavy but given what it does and its use im happy from that perspective. First fill of unit and water tasted terrible i did a test with rainwater from a tank must be some lubricant for filter or something i purged bottle and refilled and after third refill its fine. The BIGGEST issue is it LEAKS top seal of nozzle is fine.
Push It Real Good This filter has provided plenty of fresh drinking/cooking water on our trips. Pretty user friendly. Kids and adults alike will get a giggle out of it whenever the water pops out of the spout unexpectedly kinda like a jackinthabox effect. Water taste is fine. And more info on inventor of this Lifesaver bottle can be found at [.
Great filter Love it. water is uber clean. no complaints from this filter. would recommend to others and buy another if I need to.
Problems with priming Lifesaver As has been said in previous reviews I couldn't get my Lifesaver bottle to work upon arrival . After reading some negatives reviews I did what was suggested unscrew the plunger mechanism and reseat the Oring . After doing this the Lifesaver water bottle worked perfectly .
WARNING!! This filter has a very limited shelf life! If you are planning on longterm storage of this filter be aware that it has a published look at the small print in the manual shelf life of only 3 years. I've never seen that before. Didn't catch that fact in the product description and details? Hmmmm neither did I. Caveat emptor!! I suggest downloading the manual from the company website. It is very complicated to maintain/store.
Awesome Came on time well packaged and the product itself is amazing. a MUST have for every person on earth. really.

Bottle uses replaceable filters, which can treat up to 4,000 liters of water.Drink filtered water directly from the bottle or filter and store water in other containers.Two-year limited warranty. The lifesaver 4000 ultra filtration water bottle eliminates all microbiological waterborne pathogens from water without chemicals. The bottle treats 750 milliliters of water in just under a minute. The Lifesaver Bottle utilizes failsafe technology to protect you from drinking contaminated water toward the end of the filter cartridge's life. As the cartridge approaches the end of its life, the bottle requires a greater number of pumps to induce water to flow. When no more water can be induced to flow despite continuous pumping, the cartridge has expired and it is time to replace it. In addition to the purification cartridge and carbon filter, the Lifesaver Bottle is supplied with a pre-filter disc. The pre-filter disc protects the membranes of the purification cartridge from objects such as gravel, sand, sticks, and mud, prolonging the overall life of the cartridge. Your pre-filter disc may also be used as a sponge to soak up water from those hard to reach areas like cracks in rocks or shallow puddles. The Lifesaver Bottle is designed not to over-pressurize as a safety feature to prevent injury. Over-pumping the bottle will cause the flip lid to bulge. If pumping continues, then the teat will open and release the water and the pressure.

Katadyn MyBottle Purifier BottleB003LGALVS Does its job

Katadyn MyBottle Microfilter Water Treatment & Transport
  • Purifies water without batteries, pumps or hoses.
  • Convenient quick and really works Just returned from using this on a trek in Papua Indonesia. I used this in order to conserve our bottled and later our boiled water. In the middle of the night just filled it from a stream to brush our teeth and have drinking water available without bothering the others. No problem with leaks but did keep it mostly upright in the backpack but it had plenty of time on it's side without having leaks. My only complaint is that it did need frequent refilling as the filter takes up a good bit of the available volume and once it's low it's harder to squeeze and you need to suck to get the remaining water out. But being able to use any water and not worry about Giardia and bacteria plus the fact that the water is instantly available makes this wonderful for a trek.
I didn't get sick! I drank out of this bottle for six weeks in Samoa and Vanuatu. The taste wasn't the best at first iodine like but it faded after a week. Also what helped is squeezing water through the filter for a couple of bottle fulls about three which reduced the taste. The bottle was super sturdy. Three others had the same one on the trip and no one had any concerns! And I didn't get sickalthough a couple other people both using other bottles did.
It leaks!!! The idea of just refilling your water bottle as needed is great but unfortunately this product is not.It leaks as soon as it is not in an upright position. It leaks if you squeeze it.. it leaks unless it is sitting upright on a level surface. And when does that happen while hiking? I ended up carrying it dangling from my belt and only filling it 3/4 full after getting by pack wet.Considering that for $20 more you can get a purification pump this is a waste of money.
Didn't get sick in China! Went for a week with 3 kids. This allowed me to just carry 1 water bottle around without lugging a bottle per kid plus refills. Didn't get sick at all even when refilling from the tap at a zoo in China. I don't mind having my kids share a bottle but it's easy enough to squeze water from the bottle into a cup as well. Great device! Was a little hesitant but i figured it was worth a try.
Good bottle for international travel/camping. This filter bottle did the job for me as described. I never got sick from it even when taking water directly from creeks. The only faults I found with the bottle was that the tubing from the mouthpiece to the filter was very soft/flexible and would occasionally kink in a way that required some readjustments and fiddling to initiate proper flow. The only other thing I disliked is that the mouthpiece did not snap down firmly and lock so it would occasionally be bumped and the mouthpiece would flip up and be contaminated or leak. The bottle itself did not leak as some reviews I read had suggested and I did not find it difficult to squeeze and drink from the bottle. Maybe slightly more effort than you standard water bottle but when you consider all the work its doing for you in a short amount of time I think it is worth it. Most airport security checkpoints gave it the evil eye because it IS an unexpected filter contraption to find in a water bottle but they never threatened to take it away from me and I traveled through three foreign countries and 5 different airports in one trip with it.
great idea if only it was easier to use. I am traveling to India and Nepal and thought this would be a greatway to help reduce the use of plastic bottles. It was way to difficult I could barely squeeze the water out of it to cleanse the filter.
Store in cool dry place Bought this for the emergency bag to keep in my car live in earthquake territory but the instructions say store in a cool dry place. I can't find info on impact of storage in heat. Will be returning product and finding another option. I didn't try it have seen mixed reviews here and elsewhere.
Does its job I used this water filter bottle for ten days in southern Peru last August with no illness or discomfort. I filtered every drop of water I used regardless of the source e.g. hotel tap water residence tap water and river water. In addition to drinking the filtered water I used it for tooth brushing mouth rinsing and toothbrush rinsing no tap water touched my toothbrush. The iodine taste is tolerable and acceptable considering the difficult and effective work it is performing. The bottle must be both squeezed and simultaneously drawn upon with the mouth to move water through the filter. This makes sense considering the high degree of filtering being provided. Its not a fountain! But I was more than happy to accept its idiosyncrasies rather than get ill on an expensive trip in a distant country. I won't leave home without it. Its also part of my survival gear.
Great for traveling We just returned from a week in Morocco and found the bottle to be wonderful. I can see where it could be a problem for outdoor enthusiasts but for the traveler it is great. While others on our trip were constantly searching out bottled water we could make our own at any time. No waking up in the morning realizing that you didn't have water to brush your teeth and paying hotel prices for bottled water since there wasn't a store nearby. I think the bottle probably paid for itself on this one trip.
Not for Small Hands This was my very first water filtration purchase and sorry to say I am not impressed. Reading thru the initial set up and following the instructions for priming this item took well over an hour. After many tries the first night at home I still could not easily suck water thru it even while squeezing as hard as I could. Sorry to say I am not happy with this bottle and it's function. I got it this summer and tried to use it in Yosemite. First difficulty was to flush the filter by squeezing the bottle. I could barely squeeze it much less push the water out 70100%. As a petite female I was bale to squeeze maybe half the water out. Had a male friend do the second flush and he said it was also very difficult to squeeze too. Sipping while squeezing to drink was even more of a challenge trail side. I am not a backpacker but I do a fair amount of long day hikes into the high country. Had my boyfriend try it reread the instructions with me and we both decided it must be defective or just poorly designed.

Purifies water without batteries, pumps or hoses.. It doesn't look like much. That's the point. The Katadyn MyBottle Purifier is simple, but it gets the job done so well that it's the only EPA-registered bottle purification system available. Katadyn uses 3 Stage Virustat purification technology with activated carbon to remove bacteria (like giardia), viruses (like ebola), and cysts (bleah). The MyBottle Purifier is compact and lightweight, so it's perfect for camping, hiking, and travel to third-world countries like Liberia and New Jersey.Product FeaturesPurifying Element: 3 Stage Virustat, carbonPurification Rate: Volume: 24oz (700ml)Weight: 9.
